This Next Monday, 2/13, 5:00 pm, America First Ohio (AFO) is on a ROADTRIP to the ERIE County Republican Central Committee’s special meeting at the Ritter Public Library, 5680 Liberty Ave, Vermilion, OH.
This event is not an AFO’s meeting… No meeting will be held on this day at New Life Church, Milan Road. Our meeting is a ROAD TRIP, visiting as Republican/Grassroots guests to this Erie Co. Republican Central Committee meeting.
What’s UP? …at least 2 significant issues (possibly more):
Issue 1) You get to hear, in person, both of our locally elected Ohio Representatives:
DJ Swearingen represents the 89th House District, which encompasses eastern Ottawa County, western Erie County and most of Huron County
Dick Stein represents District 54 which includes most of Lorain County, northern Huron County and eastern Erie County.
• This meeting is important because a significant split recently occurred among our Ohio Republican House Members over the election of Rep. Stephans as House Speaker.
The ‘House Speaker’ voting began with three candidates vying for the position. Over time, the third candidate threw his votes behind Rep. Merrin, one of the other two Conservative candidates. Both conservative candidates asked for Democratic support. Stephens won the vote on the floor; his success included the Democratic representatives voting for him.
After the vote, among the Republicans, vitriol, name calling, and efforts of censoring has occurred.
This Central Committee meeting provides an opportunity to learn whether our Conservative issues can be effectively, successfully handled this year during such hard feelings.
Issue 2) Jeff Krabill has announced that he will be leaving his position on the Erie Co. Board of Elections. The Central Committee will be deciding his replacement.
Join us … learn about our Central Committee, meet Central Committee members … plus the issues above.
