Elections-Doing What Works
-Steve Hertzberg
Steven Hertzberg is an aerospace engineer by education, and has 30 years of start-up company experience as an engineer, business strategist and management team member across various industry sectors, including: military & defense; manufacturing; medical systems; Internet technologies, and financial services.
Steven spent the early part of his career as a civilian in systems engineering and project management, designing and managing major aircraft programs for the U.S. Navy, Marines and Army. He received the Civilian Special Act Award for his work as a test director on the APACHE Helicopter development program.
In 2001 Steven founded Votewatch (later renamed the Election Science Institute) which was a non-partisan, non-profit scientific organization. ESI monitored public elections in the U.S. to identify voting anomalies, and worked directly with election officials and Secretaries of State to help them implement systems that increased accuracy, accountability and transparency.
The organization was disbanded in 2010 due to lack of public interest in election integrity, a vacuum of will by the political class to address election transparency & accuracy, and a failure of the funding community to provide support.
A snippet of documents and public media are available at https://votewatch.wordpress.com for historical reference.
