HAMILTON: Kirsten Hill – S. E. L.–a Trojan Horse of the Education System
March 29 @ 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Mrs. Hill’s talk is entitled: “S. E. L.–a Trojan Horse of the Education System.”
It will be held this Tuesday evening at the EmpowerU America studios in the Frame USA Building, 225 Northland Blvd, Springdale, OH 45246. There is no charge.
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL is one component in the Ohio Department of Education’s (ODE) “Whole Child Framework” which seems to prioritize child behavior therapy over academic instruction in Ohio’s schools. Values, attitudes and beliefs supplant those held by parents, extended family, and faith community. As a result, students become confused by conflicting moral expectations and intellectually-hobbled by lack of academic rigor.
SEL standards were adopted by the ODE in 2019. Other components of the “Whole Child Framework” standards are Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Comprehensive Sexual Education (CSE). As Ohio is a “local control” State, school districts are not mandated to accept or implement the standards.
Kirsten Hill was elected to the State Board of Education in 2019. She was a member of the Integrated Students Support Committee, and served for 20 years on the Amherst Schools Education Foundation board. For 15 years she served the Amherst Township Board of Zoning Appeals, mostly as Chairman. Mrs. Hill is a member of the Lorain County Republican Central Committee.
Professionally, Mrs. Hill is a long-time businesswoman and a CPA with a B.S. in accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration.
