MEDINA: Taxation Without Representation and Cannabis Sentencing Reform

Join us on July 27 at 9:00 am as we gather once again at the Thirsty Cowboy in Medina as we discuss two topics. “Taxation Without Representation” with John Kalas and “Cannabis Sentencing Reform” with documentary film clips.
Common sense advocate and stakeholder John Kalas will be “spilling tea” about the latest collusion out of Cuyahoga County. Could the Cleveland Browns Stadium be a Trojan Horse for Regional Taxation, Regional Uni-Government and Regional Land Use Policies? Let’s take a look.
We will also be watching clips from an upcoming documentary about Weldon Angelos, whom President Trump pardoned after Weldon was sentenced to 55 years in prison for a cannabis-related offense.
Weldon’s story is a powerful one about freedom, redemption, and criminal justice reform.
We will participate in a kind of focus group where we fill out a brief, confidential survey before watching the film clips. Then, we will watch the clips, fill out the post-viewing survey, and have a discussion about our thoughts on everything from mandatory minimum sentencing to cannabis reform to broader criminal justice reform in Ohio and the United States.

About MCFAN: Our meetings take place from 9:00 – 10:30 AM on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. Our meeting venue is the Thirsty Cowboy (2743 Medina Rd., Medina). Each meeting features a guest speaker followed by socialization with fellow conservatives. The cost for meetings is $5.00 per person suggested donation to cover room rental and coffee. (No charge for first-time guests, students or octogenarians.)
